Country Strong

Country Strong could very well possibly be my new favorite movie. With a knockout cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund.  Paltrow plays fictional country sensation Kelly Canter on a tour to resurrect her career after being in rehab. Chiles Stanton (Meester) and Beau Hutton (Hedlund) are the opening acts for the shows. Falling in and out of love, addiction, and big dreams all play big roles in Country Strong.

I may be biased towards Country Strong being a country fan, but the story line is amazing and I don’t fully believe you need to enjoy country music to love this movie. As long you go into with an open mind and heart I know this will added to your favorite movie lists.

My favorite scene and song from the movie.

Black Swan

“Perfection is not just about control; it’s also about letting go.” ~Black Swan

I always know I’ve seen a good movie when I get home and my mind has refused to stop thinking about it. This is EXACTLY what Black Swan has done to me.

Starring Natalie Portman (Nina) a veteran ballerina and Mila Kunis (Lily), the new girl, Black Swan is a mind game wrapped in a beautifully thrilling movie. Nina is chosen to star in the ballet, “Swan Lake” which depicts the story of a pure a young girl trapped in the body of a white swan who needs to find love to break the curse. The white swan’s evil twin, the black swan, seduces the white swans lover. The white swan, in a final attempt to be free, kills herself. During Nina’s rigorous training for the ballet, the lines of reality start to blur and she begins to engulf her character more than she could ever imagine. Nina believes Lily is after her role, which is becoming her life.

Black Swan is visually stimulating and unnerving film. As Portman becomes out of touch with reality so does the audience. Black Swan is a movie to debate and rave about for hours.

Snowy Friday

New York City, 2010

Enjoy a peaceful weekend after the first week in the New Year. I hope everyones New Years resolutions are going still in tact. This year my resolutions include:

1) Be fearless in everyway

2) Save money for my house next year

3) Drink more water

What are your resolutions?

Inspired by the trailerfor Never Let Me Go, I decided I wanted to read the book by Kazuo Ishiguro. Never Let Me Go is an eerie tale of the effects of scientific advances that await our society in the future. The story is told by Kathy H, looking back at her childhood at Hailsham, her friendships with Ruth and Tommy and the fate that awaited all the students that attended. It is heart riveting story that exhibits the loss of innocence and love and eventually forces us to question, what it truly means to live.

Embracing Friday & the Weekend

Whether I have a hectic or calm week, I always embrace Friday. You get two entire days to catch up on things you’ve fallen behind with, or two wonderful days to relax without a care in the world, or two days to find yourself on an adventure to a new restaurant or town. This weekend looking forward to relaxing with my family and boyfriend and enjoying everything life offers me.Here are the 5 things that are currently making me smile.

1.) Taylor Swift’s Enchanted off her Speak Now Album.

2) Baking holiday inspired sugar cookies with someone I love this weekend.

3) DANNIJO’S new Felicity Necklace. Perfect to make a bold statement.

4) Ashley Greene gracing the cover of Cosmo.

5) Banter Banners, adorable banners for any time or place.

Have a wonderful weekend!
